Children of all ages can send their holiday wishes to Santa through Ala Moana Center’s special “Letters to Big Santa” mailbox located Level 3, Mauka Wing. Complimentary stationary will be provided for keiki to write their letters.

 

Big Santa: Standing 50 feet tall and made up of 2,500 square feet of fiberglass and nearly 2,000 pounds of resin, Ala Moana Center’s Big Santa has remained a staple at the Center for more than six decades. A team of 12 works for two days to install Big Santa using a custom-built elevator system, engineered to withstand winds of up to 86 mph. Before unveiling the new Big Santa in 2020, the original Big Santa stood 37 feet tall, and was made of paper mâché and a chicken wire framework.
