ALA MOANA CENTER OFFERS FIREWORKS, FASHION AND FUN THIS FOURTH OF JULY

HONOLULU, HAWAI‘I – For the 18th consecutive year, Ala Moana Center is proud to be the sole provider and financial source of Hawai‘i’s largest fireworks spectacular, taking place at Ala Moana Beach Park on Independence Day.  The festivities at Ala Moana Center will begin with a bang on July 4, and continue throughout the weekend with entertainment, shopping and savings for the entire family.

Thirty percent of Ala Moana Center’s fireworks this year will consist of brand-new products never seen before.  As the only fireworks show in Hawai‘i to launch from three separate platforms, it is the state’s largest fireworks production and among the top largest in the country, placing it in an esteemed world-class category.  The three-part display will use more than one ton of digital pyrotechnics and showcase amazing visual effects like “Swimming Fish,” “Giant Glittering Rainbow,” “Happy Faces,” “Tumbling Dice,” and more.  Only two other shows in the country will debut the exclusive new products – Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks in New York and the Rose Bowl July 4th Fireworks in Pasadena, Calif.

In addition to the stunning visual presentation, Ala Moana Center has orchestrated a soundtrack that will be broadcast simultaneously on KUMU 94.7 FM and will include American classic, popular contemporary and Hawaiian songs such as Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA,” Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” and “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwo‘ole.

The fireworks show will begin on Saturday, July 4 at 8:30 p.m., and free open seating on Ala Moana Center’s Makai-Ewa Parking Deck will be available on a first come, first served basis.  Guests can also relax and enjoy concessions for purchase on the Makai-Ewa Parking Deck.  Throughout the day, attendees are encouraged to come early to shop and take advantage of Ala Moana Center’s 20% Savings Pass, choose from a variety of delicious dining options and enjoy free entertainment at Centerstage in the afternoon and on the parking deck in the evening.  Entertainment will continue through the weekend with entertainment on Centerstage on Sunday, July 5 beginning at noon.
